1. Baby humans 👶 are born with about five million hair follicles, and there is no possible way to increase the number of follicles you have.

By week 22, a developing fetus has all of its hair follicles formed. At this stage of life there are about 5 million hair follicles on the body. There are a total of one million on the head, with one hundred thousand of those follicles residing on the scalp. This is the largest number of hair follicles a human will ever have, since we do not generate new hair follicles anytime during the course of our lives.

2. Africans 👩🏾‍🦱 and Caucasians 🧑🏼 are more prone to balding than Asians.

Baldness (is also known as genetic hair loss or alopecia) is the most common form of hair loss usually in men. Caucasian men are more likely to experience hair loss in larger numbers, but that doesn’t mean you won’t experience thinning hair if you are Asian descent. The highest rates for balding men based on studies are found among Caucasians, followed by Afro-Caribbeans. Chinese and Japanese men have the lowest rates. For some unknown reason, this form of hair loss is does not occur among Native Americans.

3. The anticipation of sex makes hair grow faster.

The anticipation of sex boosts testosterone levels, which stimulate hair growth. In both men and women, the levels of estrogen in the body will increase during sex. Estrogen will counter the effects of testosterone. It’s like a natural antidote to hormonal hair loss. Both men’s and women’s bodies have the hormones estrogen and testosterone. It’s usually assumed that testosterone is a “man’s hormone” and estrogen is only found in females but that’s not true. Levels of each hormone are found in our body, regardless of sex.

4. Women often lose more hair after giving birth.

Hormones are the biggest reason for pregnancy hair changes and postpartum hair loss. Many new moms see noticeable hair loss a few months after having a baby. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐥, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐬. Dermatologists refer to this condition as excessive hair shedding. The excessive shedding is caused by falling estrogen levels.

Depending on the individual, signs of pattern baldness might not be noticeable until upwards of 40% hair is lost. Signs of balding are even harder to detect in women because hair loss tends to occur in a more spread-out manner.

When ammonia dyes are used repeatedly, they tend to damage the cuticle, allowing the moisture to escape. This causes frizzy, dry and brittle hair. Choose ammonia free-hair colours because its gentler on your hair and skin. If you have an extremely sensitive scalp, you may opt for organic hair colours. They are devoid of ammonia, but may contain other alkalis similar to ammonia.

In a survey collected about the relationship between hair color and personality perception, these were the results:

  • Blonde 👩🏼 : flirty, fun
  • Brown 👩🏽 :smart, serious
  • Redheads 👩🏻‍🦰 : strong

Although the experimental hypothesis (𝘩𝘢𝘪𝘳 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘢 𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘥𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘩𝘺𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴). According to Feinman and Gill (1978) found that males preferred blonde hair colour and females preferred brunette hair colour. The Clayson and Klassen study (1989) indicated that blondes were preferred by both sexes.
