Keratin Treatment in Summer, Woman Standing infront of Beach

How’s your summer going? 🌴🌞 Do you spend most of your time outside?

Did you know? Too much exposure to the sun can affect hair as well as your skin. When going out in the sun you may want to cover your hair or minimize the amount of time you are outside. Sun damage can come in the forms of discolouration, dry and brittle strands, broken or split ends, thinning and frizziness. Thinking of getting Keratin Treatment but you might wonder:

Is Keratin Treatment Good in Summer?

Keratin treatments are perfect with coarse and frizzy hair this summer. They can also help if you don’t like your curls and tend to blow dry or straighten your hair smooth daily.

Keratin bonds protein to the outer layer of your hair, which strengthens, softens, and actually improve the health of your hair caused by summer damage

Let’s face it, our hair requires lots of care throughout the summer to keep it looking soft, shiny and frizz-free! We’ve scoured the internet and found a few hacks to help you with your summer hair care regime.

Summer Hair Hacks that will Save your hair

Condition, condition, condition

Apply conditioner ( De Lorenzo Allevi8 Duo) to the ends of your hair to about mid-shaft before sitting outside and swimming. Not only is conditioner great for moisturizing your hair, but the heat from outdoors will help lock in extra moisture.

Go heat-free and ditch the hot styling tools

Regular blow dries and straightening can cause cuticles to become dull and rigid as a result of dehydration. To maintain your hair’s natural vibrancy, opt for an air-dry instead.

Don't skip trims

Don’t neglect regular haircuts during summer; we are prone to split ends. See it as a preventative measure; just a trim is enough to remove damaged ends before the damage affects the rest of the hair shaft.

Pour sunscreen in a spray bottle and dilute it just a bit with water

Then, spritz the mixture on your scalp to evenly distribute it to show off your hair. Try and break it up with a big summer hat to protect your strands.

Rinse your hair first with regular tap water and apply conditioner

before submerging it in the pool or ocean to prevent your hair from chlorine or saltwater damage. Your porous hair strands will absorb the tap water, preventing the chemical-laden pool water from damaging your hair.

Try this DIY hair care this summer!

apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar diluted with water is fantastic not only for conditioning your hair but also to prevent your hair from going brassy after swimming in a pool. Mix 1/2 to 4 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar (ACV) with 250ml of water in a plastic squeeze bottle, spray bottle or another container.
